Sgt. W. Klozinski was a former bomber pilot and instructor with the Polish Air Force. Klozinski joined No 54 Squadron on the 2nd of June 1940. He destroyed a Bf 109 on the 12th of  August. On the 15th of August 1940 his Spitfire I (R7015) was shot down after combat over Dover with a Bf 109 at 11:45hrs, it crashed near Hythe. He was severely wounded. He did not return to duty until October 1942 but was never medically fit to fly again, serving as a ground instructor until the end of the war.
