Pte Newson was in the 96th Light Railway Operating Coy of the Royal Engineers.
He was killed on 30th December 1917. He was aged 25.

Walter was the son of Charles and Alice Finden, of Leigh-on-Sea, Essex; Husband of Daisy Finden, of 13 Shakespeare Drive, Prittlewell.

He is buried in Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery
