Capt. Tweedie-Smith was in 2/4th Battalion of the Essex Regiment.
He was killed on 7th February 1940. He was aged 32.
He is buried in Plot B, *Grave 2119, Sutton Cemetery, Southend-on-Sea.
*The family plot includes Douglas, who was a Lieutenant in the Royal Flying Corps. He was killed in a flying accident at St. Omer, France on 10th April 1916. He was aged 21.
And also another family member who served in the Queen's Royal West Surreys. He was killed at the Battle of Loos, France, on 13th October 1915. He was aged 19.
