Dvr Mapes was in 108 Corps Field Park Coy of the Royal Engineers. He was killed on 25th May 1943, aged 33. Cyril was the son of Charles and Rebecca Mapes, of Southend-on-Sea; husband of Grace Martha Mapes, of Southend-on-Sea. He is buried in Plot N, Grave 9042, Sutton Cemetery, Southend-on-Sea.
