L/Cpl Banwell was in the 4th Battalion of the Bedfordshire Regiment.
He was killed on 12th May 1918. He was aged 24.

William was the son of Arthur and Caroline Banwell, of 23 Tudor Rd., Prittlewell, Southend-on-Sea .

He is buried in Mesnil Communal Cemetery Extension
