Pte Benfield was in "D" Coy of the Royal Fusiliers.
He was killed on 5th February 1917. He was aged 19.

Gordon was the son of Tom Barker Benfield and Ellen Benfield, of 49 Homecroft Rd., Sydenham, London. Native of Kingham Hill, Chipping Norton, Oxon.

He is buried in Klein-Vierstraat British Cemetery
