Pte Merryfield was in the 100th Coy of the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry).
He was killed on 6th September 1916. He was aged 21.

Frederick was the son of James Merryfield of "Carlton", Gainsborough Drive, Westcliff-on-Sea.
Native of Prittlewell.

He is buried in St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen
