P/O Williams was born in Montreal, Canada, on 19th September 1919.
On 16th August 1939 he joined the RCAF.
On 20th June 1940, Thomas arrived in the UK with 1 (RCAF) Squadron.
On 11th September he was shot down in Hurricane P3534 during an attack on He 111s over Tunbridge Wells. He baled out, wounded in the leg and with burns to his face and one side of his body, and landed at Rotherfield, and was admitted to Kent and Sussex Hospital, Tunbridge Wells. His aircraft crashed at Lakestreet Manor, Mayfield.
On 27th August 1941, Thomas was a Flight Lieutenant with 402 Squadron when he was reported 'Missing'.
