Sgt. Robbins was born in 1915.
He was with 54 Squadron at Rochford in early July, 1940.
On 11th Setember, he was posted to 66 Squadron at Kenley.
On 14th September, 1940, Robert was shot down in his Spitfire I (X4327) by a  Bf 109 over Maidstone at 16:00hrs was admitted to Leeds Castle Hospital with serious injuries.

Commissioned in October 1943, Robert was released from the RAF in 1947, as a Flight Lieutenant.
