P/O C. W. Goldsmith was a South African flew with 54 and 603 Squadrons during the Battle of Britain.
He died of his wounds on 28th October, 1940. His Spitfire II (P7439) had been shot down by a Bf 109 of JG 51 on 27th October, 1940, south of Maidstone, Kent at 14:05hrs.
