P/O Boston served with the RAF from 1939 to May 1940 George flew with several Squadrons and spent some time at RAF Catterick flying fighters to train bomber aircrew on anti-fighter tactics.
His last posting before invalided out after a back injury received when shot down during the Dunkirk campaign was with 54 Squadron when based at Hornchurch.
