F/O G. H. Batchelor was the son of Herbert Henry and Frances Batchelor of Higham, Kent.
George was posted to 54 Squadron at Catterick on 14th October 1940.

George was awarded the DFC on 22nd July 1941.

He died of wounds whilst a POW on 15th April, 1942. He was aged 23.
George is buried in Hamburg Cemetery (5A.H.9) Ohlsdorf, Germany.
