P/O V. Parker was born in Durham.
After the loss of his family, he emigrated to Australia with his remaining relatives.
He flew with 234 Squadron during the Battle of Britain and was shot down on 15th August, 1940. Taken prisoner by a German E Boat, Vincent remained a POW for the rest of the war. He was involved in many escape bids, and eventually he was placed in Colditz.
Vincent Parker was killed in a flying accident on 29th January, 1946.
