F/Sgt. C. P. James was 16 when he joined the RAF at RAF Halton, Buckinghamshire, in 1932.
He attended Halton and graduated as a Fitter II, Aero Engine Fitter and Rigger.
He was transferred to the Middle East and served with 74 squadron. Posted to Iraq, Libya, and Egypt. After a stay at R.A.F Habbaniya, he was transferred back to the United Kingdom in 1942.
Cyril was promoted to Flight Sergeant in 1942, and retired in 1946.
