S/Ldr D. M. Davidson enlisted on 19th August 1940 as an Aircraftsman.
He was posted to 33 Squadron on 22nd January 1941 and was promoted to Sergeant on 12th February.
On 8th January 1942, Douglas was promoted to Flight Sergeant and transferred to 450 Squadron on 21st March. While serving with the squadron, he was promoted to Pilot Officer on 31st March, to Flying Officer on 30th September, and then to Flight Lieutenant on 31st March.
On 5th October 1944, Douglas was posted to 65 Squadron.
In January 1945, following promotion to Squadron Leader, he was posted to 451 Squadron.
On 27th August 1945, he was given comand of 453 Squadron.
Douglas died/was killed on 6th January 1946.
