Audrey was built for use on the Tyne but was sold for local cargo and passenger services in Cork in 1909. After changing hands again, although remaining in Cork, she was purchased in 1914 by Capt Sidney Shippick who ran her from Bournemouth to Studland, Swannage and Poole.
Soon after she was bought by the Admiralty for ferry use at Chatham for airship workers at Kingsnorth (where the Medway Queen now lies).
Released by the Admiralty in 1922 she was repurchased by Capt Shippick on behalf of the New Medway Steam Packet Co and reconditioned. Capt Shippick became the Managing Director of the New Medway Co. and Audrey was employed on a variety of duties including excursions to Herne Bay, river cruises and over to Southend.
She ended her service on local excursions from Margate & Ramsgate and was withdrawn at the end of the 1929 season and broken by by T. W. Wards yard at Grays for £500.
